Happy Birthday Banner...

Hi Everyone...Our next meeting will be Friday, March 26th at 10:00. We will have it at Alli's house. Kids are allowed. I hope this works for everyone. I know on the phone I mentioned March 29th...but I guess I'm not that great at keeping my own calendar. I got to work the next day and realized I am scheduled that day. So I'm sorry for the sudden change. I thought it would be fun to make birthday banners. I found two patterns that can be used. (And by the way...I don't know how to get that first paragraph not underlined...sorry). The first option can be found here at the Moda Bakeshop. This one is used with rectangles. Here is what it looks like:

The requirements for this banner are as follows:

-14 different squares that are 10 inches of different fabrics for the background rectangles

-14 different squares that are five inches of different fabrics for the lettering.

-Three yards pom pom trim--but really, any kind of trim can be used. It just depends on how fancy you want it to be.

-Heat and Bond

-Any other embellishments you may want...buttons, ric rac, fabric yo yo's...

The other pattern, I got from Etsy. It is a banner made with circles. Here is what it looks like:The materials needed for this banner are:

Felt or other fabric…about 1 1/2 yard of fabric is good for a “Happy Birthday” banner.

Heat ‘n’ Bond – about 1 1/4 yard needed for a “Happy Birthday” banner.

Cording – about 2 1/2 yards needed for a “Happy Birthday” banner.

Interfacing (optional).

Embroidery floss, thread, buttons are optional for details.

Personally, I am doing this one with fabric for the circles and felt for the letters. I will have copies of the how to and the lettering used for the applique on the day of the the group. I hope I haven't made this two complicated...I just like options. Have a great couple of weeks and let me know if this is a problem or if there are any questions...
